Peptides on the WADA Prohibited List: Tracker
Where things stand
As of 2026-10-24, the 2026 WADA Prohibited List bans non-approved peptides such as BPC-157 at all times under S0, and names growth-hormone fragments (AOD-9604), GHRH analogues (CJC-1295, tesamorelin), secretagogues (ipamorelin, GHRPs), kisspeptin, mechano growth factors and TB-500 under S2. The 2027 List, published 2026-09-21 and in force from 2027-01-01, adds 'peptides' as a named example in S0. GLP-1 receptor agonists such as semaglutide and tirzepatide remain not prohibited for 2027.

Questions
Is BPC-157 banned in sport?
Yes. It is named under S0 (non-approved substances) in the 2026 and 2027 Lists and is prohibited in and out of competition.
What changed for peptides in 2027?
WADA added 'peptides' as a named example in the S0 definition. Its explanatory note says many unapproved peptides meet the criteria for the List even if not individually named.
Are GLP-1 drugs like semaglutide banned?
No. WADA kept their status unchanged for 2027, saying there is not enough evidence to conclude they meet the List criteria, and has started a second study.
When does the 2027 List take effect?
On 1 January 2027. The 2026 List applies until then.
