Longevity & cellular aging
This hub covers compounds researched for effects on lifespan, senescent cells, telomeres and age-related changes in chromatin and metabolism. Most compounds listed have been studied in animals or cells; only the NAD+ precursors have randomized human trials, with mixed results on functional outcomes.
Limited human data
Animal and laboratory research
EpithalonPreclinical research · Not approved — research use onlyIn human fetal fibroblast cultures it was reported to induce telomerase activity; its originating group reported longer lifespan in mice and fruit flies.
FOXO4-DRIPreclinical research · Not approved — research use onlySenolytic peptide reported to trigger apoptosis selectively in senescent cells and studied in fast-ageing and naturally aged mice; no human study or registered trial.
HumaninPreclinical research · Not approved — research use onlyMitochondrial-derived peptide; human studies measured circulating levels, which correlated with age in healthy subjects. No interventional human trial was identified.
MOTS-cPreclinical research · Not approved — research use onlyIn mice, intermittent MOTS-c treatment begun in late life increased physical capacity and healthspan measures; circulating levels are reported to decline with age.
VilonPreclinical research · Not approved — research use onlyIn female CBA mice, long-term subcutaneous Vilon was reported by its originating group to lengthen lifespan and reduce spontaneous tumours; no controlled human trial.
LivagenPreclinical research · Not approved — research use onlyIn lymphocytes cultured from donors aged about 75 to 91, Livagen was reported to decondense heterochromatin and activate ribosomal genes; no controlled human trial.
SLU-PP-332Preclinical research · Not approved — research use onlyA small-molecule ERR agonist, not a peptide; in 21-month-old mice an 8-week course was reported to reverse age-related kidney changes. No human study.
CartalaxMechanistic only · Not approved — research use onlyIn serially passaged human stem cell and skin fibroblast cultures, AED was among peptides reported to alter senescence and proliferation markers; cell-culture data only.
ProstamaxMechanistic only · Not approved — research use onlyCalorimetric and cytogenetic studies in lymphocytes from elderly donors reported chromatin changes after exposure; no whole-animal or controlled human study was identified.

Questions people ask
Has Epithalon been shown to extend lifespan in humans?
No. Lifespan reports in mice and fruit flies come from the originating research group, and a 2026 review found no adequately powered randomised trial establishing therapeutic efficacy in humans.
What do human trials show for NAD+?
A 2026 systematic review found that the oral precursors nicotinamide riboside and nicotinamide mononucleotide consistently raised NAD-related metabolites, but effects on functional and healthspan outcomes were heterogeneous and often null. No eligible outcomes trial tested intravenous or intramuscular NAD+ itself.
Have senolytic peptides like FOXO4-DRI been tested in people?
No human study or registered clinical trial of FOXO4-DRI was identified. Its data come from cells and mice, and a 2023 Circulation study reported that senolytic interventions including FOXO4-DRI worsened pulmonary haemodynamics in mouse models.
For research use only. Not for human or veterinary use. Not a drug, food, or dietary supplement. Listing a compound under a research goal describes published research in the stated model. It is not a claim that the compound works, and it is not medical advice.
