Components
Each component has its own reference page with identifiers, evidence, and citations.
What it is
This listing describes a liquid spray blend sold on the research market. It is marketed as containing four ingredients: delta sleep-inducing peptide (DSIP), pinealon, melatonin and GABA.
Research context
Each ingredient has its own literature. DSIP and pinealon have been studied mainly in cells and animals, with a few small human reports for DSIP. Melatonin and oral GABA have been examined in human trials, summarized in reviews.
What is not known
A PubMed search found no study of this specific combination or of these ingredients delivered together as a spray. How the components behave together, and whether they reach the body from this format, has not been reported. Findings on single ingredients should not be extended to the blend.
Background viewing
We haven't found a clinician video focused on Sleep Research Blend yet. Meanwhile, this widely watched talk covers the science of aging in general. It does not discuss Sleep Research Blend.

Key findings from the literature
Summarized from the abstracts of the references below. Study models are stated so findings are not overgeneralized.
- In a double-blind study of 16 adults with chronic insomnia, intravenous DSIP produced weak sleep effects judged unlikely to be of major benefit 2.
- A mini-review noted that DSIP's gene, precursor and receptor remain unidentified, and described its role as a sleep factor as weakly documented 1.
- In cultured rat cerebellar neurons, neutrophils and PC12 cells, pinealon was reported to limit reactive oxygen species accumulation and necrotic cell death 3.
- In a rat model of prenatal hyperhomocysteinemia, pinealon given to pregnant dams was associated with better spatial learning in their offspring 4.
- A meta-analysis of 19 trials in 1,683 people with primary sleep disorders reported modest melatonin effects on sleep latency and duration 5.
- A systematic review of 14 placebo-controlled human trials found limited evidence on stress and very limited evidence on sleep for oral GABA 6.
